VISION

     APIA shall be a well-recognized and respected organization which includes widespread membership throughout the MCCD.   APIA shall promote and enhance the hiring of well-qualified API members at all levels of MCCD; be a strong civil rights advocate for APIs at MCCD and its affiliates; provide adequate financial assistance to all qualified API students who desire to better themselves through higher education.

MISSION

     The Asian and Pacific Islander Association (APIA) consisting of Faculty, administrators, staff, students, and community members of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) descent is an established organization serving the API employees and students of the Maricopa Community College District (MCCD) and MCCD’s affiliates.

     The purpose of the APIA shall be to protect and promote the well-being of its constituency through active representation and participation in the affairs of the MCCD and the community at large.

     It shall also serve to promote the educational, social, political, professional, and cultural activities of its membership; to enhance the district’s awareness of and sensitivity to Asian Pacific American cultures and communities; to encourage the professional development and growth of Asian Pacific American students and employees of MCCD.
