HRMS Pro-Active Auditing of User Access Accounts
HRMS now pro-actively audits all HRMS user access accounts on a constant basis to verify that system access roles and permissions are immediately adjusted for an employee when there is a change in employment status. For example, terminated employees are immediately and automatically reduced to minimal self service access; employees who have transferred to different positions are dynamically flagged for review to ensure that their access privileges are appropriate for the new role; new (and returning) employees are granted minimal access as soon as their information is posted on the HRMS system. These changes in employment status are also reported to EIMS, SIS, CFS and Blackboard for appropriate action in those systems.
Automated Reminder Notices
Automated reminder notices are now sent to RPS and Assignment (Contract) approvers when those approvals have not been completed within two days of a request.
Integration of HRMS to CFS
The integration of HRMS to CFS is complete. The integration allows HRMS to supply current employee data to CFS for an efficient creation of CFS user access accounts.
Legacy Adjunct Faculty Application Process
The Legacy Adjunct faculty application process was fully integrated into the new On Line Application. This fully incorporates the last remaining application process
on the old Legacy OLA system into the new, fully integrated MCCCD Requisitions/Application process.
As a direct result, the old Legacy OLA system has been retired.
HRMS Invoice Approval Workflow
The Accounts Payable Automated Invoice Approval process was expanded to include Purchase Orders (POs) for non-Service items. Prior to this, "Goods" POs were not considered in the workflow processing rules and were handled outside of the automated process. This enhancement allows the POs to be included in the automated process, saving time and handling.
Schedule 25 ready for testing at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC)
Barbara Green of DSSC ITS worked together with EMCC Administration to complete the setup necessary to
begin testing the Schedule 25 (S25) application. S25
is an automated scheduling tool that is part of the Resource 25 (R25) application suite.
Upgrade to Blackboard 8.0 Content System Installation
Blackboard was successfully upgraded to version 8.0 and the Content System was installed over the 2009 Memorial Day holiday weekend. The system was brought down on Friday, May 22 at 12:01 AM, and was available to users by 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 24. The upgrade and install were coordinated through our service provider (BB ASP) and the Course Management System (CMS) team. The members of the MCCCD Electronic Learning Advisory Group (eLAG) conducted extensive post-upgrade testing before the system was released to students and faculty. The CMS team continues to work with BB ASP to ensure the stability and availability of Blackboard for our students and faculty.
University of Arizona Meets with DSSC ITS
In response to a request from the University of Arizona, a DSSC ITS team made up of Steve Creswell, Gary Nusbaum, Jim King, Janice McClain, Bob Carrigan, Joyce McQueen and Linda Hannigan met with IT representatives from the University of Arizona to discuss their preparations for the implementation of a student information system. The DSSC ITS team shared MCCCD's experience with implementing SIS, from both a technical and functional standpoint. This meeting provided an opportunity to open an ongoing dialogue between the University of Arizona and MCCCD.
