Wellness is more than just physical health, the concept of wellness
advocates a balanced approach to life. The wellness model includes
seven dimensions: social, emotional, spiritual, environmental,
intellectual, occupational, and physical. The Wellness Maricopa Team
encourages you to discover what wellness means in your life.
Wellness Maricopa is a collaborative effort of individuals within the Maricopa Community College District committed to the philosophy of empowering employees through organizational wellness.
Wellness Maricopa envisions an environment that recognizes the value of each individual employee and his or her well-being.
The Mission of Wellness Maricopa is to empower our faculty and staff to make healthier lifestyle choices and informed healthcare decisions by providing comprehensive wellness opportunities through communication, education and screenings.
Wellness Maricopa will offer programs at each college throughout the year. Wellness Maricopa works collaboratively with the benefits office to bring you new programs like the Maximize Your Benefits session and continuing programs like Flu Shots. This year programming will include wellness fairs, health screenings, flu shots and seminars.
Wellness Maricopa also provides you with information on programs happening on your campus, or a campus near your home. These programs include tobacco cessation classes, weight control classes and programs, fitness centers and activity classes, health and wellness classes, nutrition classes, stress management classes and more. Many programs and services are FREE and tuition waivers may be available to eligible employees for credit classes.
