The Sustainability Committee has representatives from all 10 Maricopa Community Colleges who are passionate about sustainability and work as champions implementing the mission and vision of the Office of Sustainability.
The Committee meets monthly to drive sustainability at Maricopa.
Current Committee Initiatives
- Cooking Education Work Group
This sub-Committee is working on helping our food pantries, as well as finding ways to bring healthy cooking and eating habits closer to our students and greater community.
- Green Cord Program
This sub-Committee is exploring how to best monitor our graduates that have completed a sustainability degree or certificate.
- Waste Consolidation Program
The Committee is currently working on establishing a baseline on how waste is being handled across our district to explore opportunities for innovation and other opportunities.
- E.A.R.T.H. Forward Sub-Committee
This sub-committee plans and organizes Maricopa Community Colleges' annual E.A.R.T.H. Forward Conference, featuring current sustainability topics and honoring the accomplishments of our faculty, students, and staff.
