Our Commitment to the Community
Community is the shared purpose, mutual support, and sense of belonging that connects our students, business partners, families, and neighbors.
It’s built every day across our colleges, in our classrooms and beyond—where people find support and opportunity through learning, personal growth, civic engagement, and access to essential resources and information.
We are community-driven at our core—made by the community, for the community. It’s why we exist.
What We Offer
Community Education Programs
We give back to the communities we serve and enhance the quality of life for the public. As part of our mission, our programs create flexible pathways for community learning, personal growth, and professional development.
Basic Needs and Community Resources
We understand that basic needs directly impact our students' well-being and academic success, so we are committed to connecting them and their families to basic needs, information, and resources.
Phoenix Forge: A Community Makerspace
A public makerspace from GateWay Community College—offering memberships with access to classes, workshops, events, expert staff, and tools. We welcome makers of all skill levels and we're free for students, faculty, and staff.
Center for Excellence in Inclusive Democracy (CEID)
