Getting Started

Go to tools.maricopa.edu/Support/FindMeid to see if you have an MEID already in the system.

The Maricopa Community Colleges are 10 colleges around the Phoenix metro area. You may not realize that you applied to one of our colleges previously! You may also have taken high school dual enrollment course work through your high school through one of the Maricopa Community Colleges. Go to Find My MEID and enter in your information to see if you are in our system.

Please ensure that you are logging in with your MEID. If you don't know your MEID, you can find it at Find My MEID. If you have not logged into the Maricopa Community Colleges for over 365 days, you may need to Reactivate Your MEID. If you are a staff or faculty member in the Maricopa Community Colleges, you will need to use multi-factor authentication through Duo in order to access the application. Finally, you may need to reset your password.

An email address is required to apply through the online admissions application. You can receive free email addresses through a variety of different websites, such as Gmail, Yahoo, or your internet service provider. The Maricopa Community Colleges will provide you with a student email account through Gmail after being admitted.

Yes, we encourage you to apply to the Maricopa Community Colleges. If you are studying in the U.S. and have an F (F-1 or F-2) or M (M-1or M-2) visa, you can join as an international student. If you are in a B-1 or B-2 status you may be eligible to enroll in courses not tied to a program of study. For additional information regarding citizenship, see our Citizenship Status FAQs. If you have additional questions regarding your citizenship or visa status, contact your college's Admissions, Records, and Registration office.

We're sorry that you experienced an error! Call us at 480-784-0999 to process an application over the phone or connect with the Admissions, Records, and Registration/Enrollment Services office at one of our Maricopa Colleges for assistance. Our hours are Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

If you were applying as a new student and created a username/MEID at the beginning of the application and now need that username/MEID to continue, you can find that username/MEID in the email that you used when creating the account. MEIDs created without an application submission will be deleted after 48 hours.

Personal Information

Your social security number is important for a variety of different reasons, but it is not required for you to submit your admissions application. If you plan to utilize federal financial aid, you must submit a social security number to the Maricopa Community Colleges. You can submit your social security number through the admissions application without submitting your actual card. However, if you do not submit your social security number through the admissions application to update your social security number in the system, you will need to provide your social security card to your college. Your social security number may also be used to help verify your information for student service, and it is utilized for some self-service tools like finding or reactivating your MEID.

The residency questions are used to determine your residency status, or more simply, your tuition rate within the Maricopa Community Colleges. This information is used to ensure that you are being charged the appropriate tuition rate based on your citizenship/residency status. You may be asked to submit additional documentation regarding your residency status by your college(s).

In order to ensure that we are meeting residency regulation requirements, please ensure that the date for moving to Maricopa county is as accurate as possible. You may be asked to provide additional documentation regarding your residency status by your college(s).

You can submit a name change to your college by submitting the Legal Name/Legal Sex Update Request form found on our Admissions, Records, and Registration page.

If you have previously applied to the Maricopa Community Colleges and need to update your Social Security Number, you must submit the Student Information Update Request form found on our Admissions, Records, and Registration page.

Directory information is considered public information and, at it's discretion, the college or district may provide this information in accordance with the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). For additional information regarding directory information, please see our FERPA webpage.

If you are needing to submit your high school transcript or other documents for placement into math, reading, or English courses, you can submit them through our Assessment and Placement page. If you are wanting to transfer coursework from a institution outside of the Maricopa Community Colleges, send your official transcript(s) directly from the institution where you received the credit to your college's Admissions, Records, and Registration/Enrollment Services office.

Programs

You are unable to select plans for a college that you are already active at. If you get the message "No program plans for this college available," log in to your Student Center for registration. If you do not have access to registration at that college, please start a live chat at the bottom right of this page or email admissions@apps.maricopa.edu.

If you are unsure what program to select, we encourage you to explore our degrees and certificates. You can also take a PipelineAZ assessment to explore and align your interests with our programs. If you have additional questions regarding selecting a degree, we encourage you to talk with the Career Counseling Services at your college. You can also change your program after submitting the admissions application. If receiving financial aid, only courses fitting within your program of study will be paid. It is important to connect with an academic advisor to ensure you are in the right program of study.

Yes, you can apply to multiple colleges before submitting the application. After selecting a college and adding it to your application, you will have the option to go back to add another program and college to your application. You can do this for each college.

You can find all the degrees and certificates on our website. By clicking on Degrees and Certificates A-Z you can filter by the degree or certificate as well as the college. You can find all colleges offering a specific degree or certificate in the filtered list.

In general, an associate degree is typically 60+ credits and prepares for continued education and transfer to a bachelor's degree program. Certificate programs are generally shorter than associate programs and focus on technical or academic competencies necessary for a certain field. However, each program is different. You are encouraged to explore the degrees and certificates on our website. Each program page will share with you general information regarding the degree or certificate, the number of credits required to complete, and whether or not the program is eligible for federal financial aid.

To find out whether or not a program is eligible for federal financial aid, click on the program from the degrees and certificates page on our website. Under the details of the program, there will be a note indicating if the program is not eligible for federal financial aid. The Academic Plan Code will also include an "N" at the end, indicating that it is not eligible for federal financial aid.

Please check your college website for their online degrees and offerings.

After selecting your program, you will automatically be placed in a Field of Interest. All degrees and certificates are grouped into Field of Interests, which share similar areas of study. For more information on Fields of Interest, watch our Fields of Interest video.

You can update your program through the My Maricopa Student Portal application. We recommend that you meet with an academic advisor prior to updating your program. In addition, updating your program may impact your financial aid or veteran benefits. If you have questions regarding updating your program at a later date, the Admissions, Records, and Registration office at your college will be able to assist you at that time.

You do not need to be full-time student in order to attend the Maricopa Community Colleges. We have many part-time students in the Maricopa Community Colleges. The academic advising team at your college can work with you to create an academic plan that makes sense for you.
