Innovation Centers
Center for Entrepreneurialism and Innovation (CEI)
The Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation (CEI), established through the collaboration of GateWay Community College and Maricopa Community Colleges, serves as a pivotal hub for bioscience entrepreneurs in Phoenix. Since its inception in 2013, its industry-leading incubator for bioscience entrepreneurs in Phoenix has nurtured over 75 startups, facilitated the creation of 872 jobs, procured $135 million in capital, and generated more than $177 million in total gross revenue.
LabForce
Within the CEI business incubator, LabForce is a premier institution specializing in tailored laboratory technician courses. LabForce’s training labs are playing a crucial role in preparing lab-ready workers for Arizona’s fast-growing bioscience sector. Its comprehensive programs are also meticulously crafted to enable companies to offer customized learning solutions that facilitate employee upskilling and reskilling opportunities.
Phoenix Forge
Phoenix Forge is a community makerspace open to students of the 10 Maricopa Community Colleges and the public. With over 600 members, its power is that anyone can access tools that are unavailable to most people, facilitating the growth of small, innovative businesses. The Greater Phoenix impact model estimates that over a 10-year span, Phoenix Forge will help generate $1.4 million in tax revenues, $12.1 of personal income, and $36 million in economic output.
