Surplus Property Public Auction
Maricopa Community Colleges holds public auctions for our surplus property, including sealed bids on vehicles, specialty equipment, computers, tables, chairs, desks, and more. All auctions and bids are conducted in accordance with Governing Board policies and Arizona regulations, and auctions are conducted by Sierra Auctions Management, Inc.
Terms and Conditions
Important: All items are sold “as is, where is," without any stated or implied condition, warranties, or guarantees. Maricopa County Community Colleges and Sierra Auctions assume no liability for bodily injury, death, or property damage caused by the items.
The auctioneers and Maricopa Community Colleges assume no responsibility for any inaccuracies noted in fliers, lot lists, or other advertisements.
No children under 12 years of age are permitted at auctions. The testing or plugging in of any computers or other electronic equipment is not allowed.
Deposit, Payment, and Tax Information
- Buyers will provide a refundable deposit of $200.00 paid with cash or a debit card.
- All items must be paid in full upon completion of the auction.
- Payment may be made using cash, cashier’s check, debit card, American Express, MasterCard, or Visa.
- A 9.3% sales tax will be charged on all purchases unless the seller has been provided with a valid and legal resale tax license and completed Arizona form 5000 Tax Exempt Certificate.
- All payments are due within two hours after the conclusion of the auction.
Pickup and Loading Requirements
- Bidders will be responsible for loading and transporting their purchased items. We offer a forklift service with a $2.00 fee per pallet or lift. We only accept cash, and exact change is required.
- It is the buyer’s responsibility to remove their items from the pallet lots, but items may not be removed from the bays until auction bidding is complete. All items must be removed in their entirety with no debris left in the warehouse or outside the parking lot.
- All items must be packed up, loaded, and removed from the parking lot by 4 p.m. Note: After the 4 p.m. deadline, you will not be allowed to load your items on any part of the premises (warehouse or parking lot).
- Items not picked up by 4 p.m. on the specified pickup date will be considered abandoned and then disposed of at the discretion of Maricopa Community Colleges.
