Quality Assurance
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Quality Assurance program is designed for students to obtain the skills required to be considered as a quality technician in a manufacturing environment.
Details
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses within the program.
- Solve manufacturing related problems using algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. (MPT110, MPT111, MPT113, MPT151, MPT213, MPT214)
- Interpret technical drawings for manufacturing and product development. (MPT101, MPT110, MPT111, MPT151, MPT214, MPT290AC, MPT298AC)
- Interpret and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing practices. (MPT110, MPT111, MPT113, MPT151, MPT213, MPT214)
- Use manual and digital specific inspection tools and equipment. (MPT110, MPT113, MPT213, MPT214)
- Perform corrective actions using data analysis. (MPT151, MPT213, MPT214, MPT215, MPT216, MPT217, MPT290AC, MPT298AC)
- Apply quality systems and statistical analysis to improve a manufacturing process for a given part. (MPT215, MPT216)
- Apply quality control systems and statistical analysis to improve manufacturing processes for a given manufacturing system. (MPT217, MPT218)
- Use 3D scanning to perform basic reverse engineering tasks, design simple mechanical models, and inspect their dimensional integrity. (MPT101, MPT110, MPT111, MPT113, MPT151, MPT214)

The following is the suggested course sequence by term. Please keep in mind:
- Students should meet with an academic advisor to develop an individual education plan that meets their academic and career goals. Use the Degree Progress Report Tool in your Student Center to manage your plan.
- The course sequence is laid out by suggested term and may be affected when students enter the program at different times of the year.
- Initial course placement is determined by current district placement measures and/or completion of 100-200 level course and/or program requirements.
- Degree and transfer seeking students may be required to successfully complete a MCCCD First Year Experience Course (FYE) within the first two semesters at a MCCCD College. Courses include FYE101 and FYE103. Course offerings will vary by college. See an academic, program, or faculty advisor for details.
