This program is offered at Glendale Community College, Paradise Valley Community College, and Rio Salado College, but up to 65 credits may be taken at any of the Maricopa Community Colleges.

- Students in this 120-credit hour program will complete coursework in professionalism, educational psychology, classroom management, science of reading, teaching (social studies, science, language arts, mathematics), exceptional learners, fine arts in educational settings, language development and disorders, educational trends, and law and policy.
- General education courses for this program explore broad foundational knowledge and essential skills to prepare students to contribute to society through personal, social, and professional interactions with others.
- This program includes field-based experiences and student teaching in elementary and special education.
With a bachelor’s degree in this field, you will be qualified for an Arizona teaching certificate for elementary school (K-8) and mild-moderate special education and prepared to pursue a career as a special education teacher and elementary school teacher.
