AppleCare Hardware Repair Exam Prep
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in AppleCare Hardware Repair Exam Prep prepares students to perform troubleshooting and repair of devices and computer models currently supported by Apple. Upon successful completion, students will have the opportunity to become certified in the Global Service Exchange (GSX) using Apple Technical Learning Administration System (ATLAS), the Apple learning management system. The CCL in AppleCare Hardware Repair Exam Prep prepares students to take the AppleCare Hardware Certification exams.

This program is not eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid.
This pathway map will help you gain the expertise needed to:
- Describe common hardware components and uses of Mac computer models and iOS devices.
- Demonstrate the ability to use GSX to process Apple warranty, order parts, look up details of any Apple device brought in for service and initiate diagnostics.
- Explain the integration of hardware and software in Apple-computer architectures.
- Diagnose the nature of a problem whether hardware, software, security, privacy, network connectivity or education-related.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting in Apple-specific computer and device systems.
- Demonstrate preventive maintenance for Apple-specific computer and device systems.
- Perform repairs on Apple-specific computer and device systems.
- Perform diagnostics for Apple-specific computer and device systems.
- Repair system security and privacy issues for Apple-specific computer and device systems.
- Employ industry-recognized safety procedures throughout the repair process.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting network and permission issues.

Course Sequence by Term
The following is the suggested course sequence by term. Please keep in mind:
- Students should meet with an academic advisor to develop an individual education plan that meets their academic and career goals. Use the Degree Progress Report Tool in your Student Center to manage your plan.
- The course sequence is laid out by suggested term and may be affected when students enter the program at different times of the year.
- Initial course placement is determined by current district placement measures and/or completion of 100-200 level course and/or program requirements.
- Degree and transfer seeking students may be required to successfully complete a MCCCD First Year Experience Course (FYE) within the first two semesters at a MCCCD College. Courses include FYE101 and FYE103. Course offerings will vary by college. See an academic, program, or faculty advisor for details.
