Sustainable Food Systems
Many people don’t understand how food systems are deeply connected to ecosystems, economies, and human culture in general. But if you’d like it to be your job to educate them, a career in sustainable food systems may be ideal for you.
With our Sustainable Food Systems program, you’ll explore the impact certain agricultural practices have on the world at large. Our experienced instructors will teach you about local and global food systems, contemporary food movements, and the fundamentals of sustainability. Other covered topics will include basic nutrition, basic principles and techniques for sustainable cooking, organic foods production, community garden concepts, food preparation laws, sanitation guidelines, and cultural food practices and beliefs.
Make it happen. Take the first step of your career in sustainable food systems today.
Students at any Maricopa Community College may need to complete courses at more than one of our colleges.
