Maricopa Community Colleges Celebrate Student Success and Diversity with Cultural Convocations

Convocations celebrate students who participate in various cultural groups, including Asian Pacific Islanders, LGBTQ+, Veterans, Hispanics, Black/African-Americans, and American Indians. The following events are open to graduates, their families, and the public.

Equality (LGBTQ+) Maricopa Convocation

Student Veterans Convocation

Fri., May 5

Dinner at 4:30 p.m. followed by the convocation ceremony at 5:15 p.m.

Asian Pacific Islanders Convocation

Sat., May 6

11:00 a.m.

Conference Center, Rio Salado College, 2323 W. 14th St., Tempe

Black/African-American Convocation

Sat., May 6

2:00 p.m. ceremony. Graduates are asked to check in at 12:30 p.m.

Performing Arts Center, South Mountain Community College, 7050 S. 24th St., Phoenix

Hispanic Convocation

Sat., May 6

6:30 p.m. ceremony. Graduates are asked to check in at 5:30 p.m.

American Indian Convocation

6:00 p.m. ceremony. Reception and graduate check-in begins at 5:00 p.m.
