Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) has been named to the Forbes 2017 list of America’s Best Employers.

“Maricopa is proud to be recognized as one of America’s top employers,” said Chancellor Maria Harper-Marinick. “This is a reflection of the caliber of faculty and staff we have across the system and their collective commitment to serving our students and communities.”

Working with online statistics provider Statista, Forbes surveyed 30,000 American employees working for large (more than 5,000 employees in the U.S.) and midsize (between 1,000 and 5,000 employees in the U.S.) employers in 25 different industries. The willingness to recommend one’s own employer was considered to be the most important dimension of the assessment.

A total of 60 education-based employers, from school districts to universities, were recognized in the 800 best large and midsized employers. Forbes recognized only two Arizona-based employers and MCCCD was the only education-based employer in Arizona to be named as a top employer, earning 44th best on the midsized employer list.
