"We applaud Governor Ducey for his announcement today that he will fully fund the STEM workforce development formula for the Maricopa County Community College District. Equipping job-seekers with the skills needed to succeed in today’s workforce is at the core of our mission.

As the largest workforce development provider in the state, the Maricopa County Community College District has been and will continue to be a catalyst for innovation and delivering high-quality training and education to our community in the fastest-growing and most-promising job paths built on science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills. Investing in STEM education and training in Arizona’s two most populated counties will help us ensure continued opportunities to enhance the experiences and quality of life of our students so that they will be able to contribute to our economic prosperity for the future.

We look forward to the continued collaboration with industry leaders, the state’s legislators, and Governor Ducey’s office. We are proud to support the strength of Arizona’s economy by preparing students for a successful place in the workforce of the future."
