The Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) has released its Truth in Taxation information for the fiscal year 2021-2022 budget, in compliance with Arizona Revised Statute 15-1461.01. MCCCD is notifying its property taxpayers of the intention to raise its primary property taxes over last year's level. MCCCD is proposing an increase in primary property taxes of $14,266,877 or 2.77 percent.

Notwithstanding the Official Notice of Tax Levy required in the Truth-in-Taxation statute published previously, the property tax change under consideration by the Governing Board will result in an actual decrease in the tax bill for many homeowners. For example, the change will result in a proposed tax decrease of $6.24 for a $100,000 home. This change will generate an estimated $14.3 million, exclusive of new property, which will be dedicated for capital needs.

This proposed new levy is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction. The levy is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter-approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.

As a consequence of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Board’s May 25, 2021, Public Hearing & Special Meeting will be conducted entirely Remotely via WebEx Events.
