The Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) has selected three finalists after a nationwide search for the System’s next Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost. The search committee, comprised of college and community representatives, has conducted a thorough screening and preliminary interviews with the applicants to identify those best suited for long-term success in the role.
Public forums with the finalists will take place on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. The forums are open to students, employees, and the general public. Each forum allows the audience to ask questions and provide feedback that goes to the Chancellor for further consideration as part of a comprehensive and inclusive evaluation of each candidate.

Lisa Armour, Ph.D.
Dr. Lisa Armour is a transformational leader dedicated to meeting where they are. Since 2011, Dr. Armour has served as a Vice President at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, where she leads the college’s strategic planning efforts, translating strategic goals into mission-focused action. In addition, Dr. Armour has served as the college’s Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, leading a team of faculty, staff, and administrators dedicated to ensuring student success across associate degrees and certificates; applied baccalaureate degrees; early-college high school programs; and continuing education, workforce development, and customized training programs. Prior to joining Santa Fe College, Armour was the Dean of Mathematics and served as mathematics faculty at Valencia College. A disciplined problem solver, Dr. Armour holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mathematics from Rollins College and the University of Florida and a doctorate in industrial engineering from the University of Central Florida.
Kimberly Britt, Ph.D.
Since 2022, Dr. Kimberly Britt has served as the President of Phoenix College, where she supports an environment that champions every student who enters its doors. She is an AACC Structured Pathways Commission member, President for Latino Student Success, and an active President with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities. Dr. Britt previously served as Phoenix College’s Vice President of Academic Support Services and oversaw seventeen instructional departments and Academic Support Services. Highlights from her twenty-six-year career in community colleges include serving as Special Assistant to the Chancellor of the Virginia Community College System, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Virginia Community College System, and Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Reynolds Community College in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Britt holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Charleston Southern University, a master’s degree in English from Northwestern State University, and a doctorate in higher education from the University of South Carolina.
Leroy Hamilton Jr., Ph.D.
Dr. Leroy Hamilton Jr. has served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Special Assistant to the President, Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Vice Provost for Academic Effectiveness, as well as an Academic Dean, Executive Director of an Academic Advising unit and a Director of Student Services unit. During his career, Dr. Hamilton has developed support systems for student success, engagement, and workforce readiness. He has also worked with faculty and staff to develop new academic programs and conduct ongoing assessments of the curriculum for continuous improvements of existing academic programs.
