The Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) and the University of Advancing Technology (UAT) are proud to announce their continued articulation agreement, offering students from MCCCD’s 10 colleges a seamless transfer pathway to advance their education and careers in technology. This partnership reinforces a shared commitment to fostering innovation and providing opportunities for students to thrive in Arizona’s growing tech sector.
"We are thrilled to partner with the University of Advancing Technology to provide new opportunities for transfer students," said Rose Rojas, District Director for Curriculum and Transfer. "This collaboration streamlines pathways for students to continue their education seamlessly, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving industries. Together, we are committed to empowering students and supporting their academic and professional journeys."
Transferring Made Easy
Through this agreement, MCCCD students pursuing associate degrees can transfer 90 credits directly into UAT’s cutting-edge bachelor’s programs in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Robotics, and Maker Tech. This collaboration simplifies the transfer process, ensuring students can build on their existing coursework without losing momentum, saving time and financial resources.
“By working together, UAT and MCCCD are creating clearer, faster routes for students to enter Arizona’s dynamic technology landscape,” said Dr. David Bolman, UAT Provost. “This partnership reflects our mission to empower future innovators and provide accessible, high-quality education pathways for all students, but especially for those right here in Arizona.”
Why It Matters
MCCCD is the nation’s largest community college system, with 10 individually-accredited colleges and 31 satellite locations, serving over 140,000 students each academic year. This agreement strengthens the collaboration between MCCCD and UAT, opening doors to high-demand, high-impact, and high-wage careers and ensuring students are well-prepared to meet the tech industry’s needs. The partnership benefits students and contributes to the growth and diversification of Arizona’s tech workforce by fostering a robust pipeline of skilled professionals ready to tackle tomorrow’s challenges.
By the Numbers
During the 2023-2024 academic year, 6,672 MCCCD students transferred to in-state institutions, 74 to out-of-state institutions, and 1,436 to online institutions. With an expansive network of public and private university transfer partnerships in the U.S. and abroad, MCCCD provides students with additional post-secondary educational pathways to complete their bachelor’s or master’s degrees.
