Service Learning

Service learning is an educational, hands-on opportunity that combines community service with academic learning through Maricopa Community Colleges. Service learning extends your education beyond the classroom and encourages you to use newly acquired skills and knowledge in real-life situations.

Areas of focus include:

• Critical thinking and problem solving
• Social and personal development
• Civic and community responsibility
• Values clarification
• Career exploration

The purpose of these programs is to provide you with educational opportunities in community service by placement in government agencies, educational entities, civic organizations, or citizen advocacy groups. Our programs will often place you in government agencies, educational associations, civic and non-profit organizations, or citizen advocacy groups.
