Arizona Teachers Academy Scholarship Dual Enrollment teachers in the academic disciplines at Maricopa Community Colleges must have a master’s degree in the content area or a master’s degree in any area with 18 credit hours of graduate-level courses in the area they plan to teach. The Arizona Teachers Academy tuition scholarship is a great way to pay for those credits while pursuing your qualification. The scholarship funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis through:

• Arizona State University
• Northern Arizona University
• University of Arizona

Graduate courses taken for Dual Enrollment eligibility can also be seamlessly applied to a future Master of Arts in Education if you decide to pursue that route.

Here are the minimum requirements to become a Dual Enrollment teacher in academic and occupational courses at Maricopa Community Colleges:

Alternative Minimum Requirements for Teaching Occupational Courses

For occupational courses, one of the following or a combination of the following must be met:

• Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught
• Three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught and a bachelor’s degree
• A master’s degree with 24 upper division and/or graduate credits in the field to be taught
• A master’s degree in the teaching field
• A master’s degree in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field
• A master’s degree in any field with a combination of 24 upper division and/or graduate credits in the teaching field
• A journeyman certification in the field to be taught
