Biography
Jacqueline Smith is a mission-driven executive with 15 years of experience launching and leading transformative strategies and initiatives at Arizona State University (ASU). Currently, she serves as Senior Vice President at the ASU Foundation for a New American University.
Jacqueline is a Professor of Practice in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College with a focus on university design and higher education and the law. She has also taught an undergraduate course called Cross Sector Collaboration which is offered to students in the Next Generation Service Corps, a program she helped design.
Jacqueline was elected to the MCCCD board in November 2020. In 2021, she reached two milestones that she had dreamed about for many years, she was sworn into public office and became a mother. The voters got two for the price of one and 2 months after being sworn in, she gave birth to her son, Johnny. Outside of work and volunteer responsibilities, you can find her practicing hot yoga, exploring a playground or library with her son or cheering on the Phoenix Suns with her husband.
